I am always thinking about doing something else. Moving forward. I don’t like to sit still. I’m never afraid to throw out my opinion.
I have an ecclectic taste in music. I have a hard time listening to country music as it makes me sad, but I do appreciate the acoustics. Pop music is addicting, and i’m a closet Justin Bieber fan.
My friends are all over the world. And without them, I wouldn’t be here today. Each city I travel to, I am always welcomed with open arms and thanks to social networking, nobody is out of reach anymore.
Over the years I have tried to learn photography, and just don’t have the patience for it. So instead of being behind the camera, I love being in front of it. Still photos can catch a lifetime of memories. Secretly, I fear being in front of any video cameras.
About this Blog //Just a few of my ramblings. *Update* Upon transferring my blog from hosts, I lost all media content. Therefore, alot of blog posts may look out of sorts without images :-(
Its been many years since i’ve flown you, and this year was my first time in a long time that I was willing to give you another chance (mostly because I was not the one booking my flights).
On a recent trip home from Orlando Florida, I arrived at the airport 2 hours before my boarding time (as instructed). I went to the self check-in and was prompted with a screen telling me that my flight was delayed and I had to speak to a customer service agent. Slightly annoyed, I wandered into the line that was forming and waited for someone to help me.
I was greeted with by someone (I didn’t make a note to catch her name unfortunately) who went over and beyond to make sure that I could check into my flight. She not only saw the flight delay (due to bad weather), but realized I had a 1 hour lay over in Phoenix that I could possibly miss. She asked other agents, who came back to assure her and I that I would NOT miss my lay over flight on Phoenix. The agents had assured me that they were going to be holding the flight in Phoenix to make sure that everyone was onboard.
Confident that I would not end up stuck in Phoenix, I checked in, wandered around the airport and finally went through security. I felt a sigh of relief as I had to be home the next morning to get back to work and could not miss another day in San Francisco.
Upon my arrival to Phoenix, I got to the gate just as they were closing the doors. I checked in with the woman at the desk who rudely told me that Orlando agents had mis-informed me and slapped a piece of paper for a number I had to call for a ‘discounted hotel’ as that was their last flight to SF for the night. Because it was ‘not their fault’ that there were weather delays, its now my fault for not showing up on time and I have to pay for it with a discounted hotel voucher. The woman was rude, and completely abnoxious and walked away.
I decided it was a better choice just to stay in the airport to catch the first flight out of SF. Yes, I ended up spending the night at the airport. By the time I was able to get a hold of someone on the hotline for a discounted hotel rate, by the time I got to the hotel, into bed and had to wake up, I would have gotten a total of maybe 3 1/2-4 hours of sleep. A total waste of money.
I have to advise you UsAirWays, Don’t have a customer service Twitter account if you don’t plan on offering customer service. I was in the airport all night, and tweeted to you a couple of times. When you finally responded, it was with a link to a form to fill out. That was it.
When you tweet something like this, it gives someone hope that you actually want to help them:
Your reply? A DM to a link to a form to fill out.
I then tweeted, along with several others about the situation and your customer service team replies back telling me it would be up to 5 business days before I heard anything back.
This is where you went wrong in many ways:
Dear Ms. Baldwin:
hank you for contacting Customer Relations. We appreciate it when customers take the time to share their concerns.
I’m sorry you were delayed on your flight to Phoenix. Our records show your flight was delayed due to Air Traffic Control (ATC).
Air Traffic delays can be the result of weather or congestion at your destination or origin city, or weather enroute. These delays are similar to freeway congestion where an earlier situation can cause delays long after the initial incident has been cleared. When these kinds of issues occur Air Traffic Control will decrease the number of take-offs and landings which they believe can be safely allowed. This can cause backups in flight schedules for the remainder of the day. Although it may appear as though flights of another airline are unaffected, this is because other flights have been held back or cancelled to free up the airport space and help control traffic. In these types of situations, ATC determines the flow of traffic.
I realize it was disappointing for you. Since this was not a situation that we could have prevented, I regret that I am unable to offer you compensation, but I’m again sorry for the inconvenience it caused you.
Additionally, based on what you’ve said, our agents didn’t handle the situation with the quality customer care we expect. I apologize and understand your frustration. I’ve shared your feedback with our leadership team in Phoenix to help improve our service and ensure this doesn’t happen again.
Ms. Baldwin, we appreciate and value your business and look forward to serving you on a future US Airways flight.
Allow me to translate my response to this email in this picture:
Sure, it wasn’t your fault USAirways, that the flight was delayed due to weather. What was your fault was guaranteeing that i’d make my connecting flight. It WAS your fault that your customer service has a total lack of regard to making consumers want to continue to fly with you again. And it WAS your fault that no matter how hard I tried to reach out to you in hopes that you would make the situation better, I had to fill out forms, talk to what felt like a robot on twitter with an automated response, and your email reply that basically laughs at me for your faults.
I know my experience is just one of thousands. This is why there are airlines such as Virgin America, and JetBlue who took customer experiences such as mine and realized that there are people that want a pleasurable experience flying with them. And they do whatever it takes to make sure their customers keep coming back.
I have never had a bad experience on any airline. Sure, i’ve been woken up by the attendants when I am trying to catch up on sleep trying to offer me something to drink, and Sure, my luggage has been lost but always found. But i’ve never been guaranteed a flight that clearly wasn’t going to happen followed by a week and a half of terrible customer service.
Please hang this image in your customer service department as a reminder of how your customers see you.
With that, I bid you a fond fairwell USAirWays.

Every once in a great while, I work on awesome projects that I openly brag about. From social media, to fashion, to travel.
About 2 years ago, while urging every possible tech event to get cupcakes as a means to get influential people to show up, there were several suggestions to open a cupcake truck. Brushing off the idea, I just wanted delicious treats to be served to my fellow entrepreneurs. I know, that something so small and delicious brings a warm fuzzy feeling to my heart, it has to with others as well.
After a trip around the world and a reminder that I need an urgent change of pace for a while, there were several people bringing up the cupcake truck idea yet again.
It wasn’t until February 2012, that someone urged the idea that made me realize, its about time I learned how to use my stove and make cupcakes of my own. Hoping not to burn down my apartment building, I went ahead and gave my building manager a heads up that anything that comes out of my kitchen usually comes out in smoke.
Several batches of cupcakes later, I realized this is probably something that could turn out well on wheels. But first, why not test these bad boys out on some friends?
75 people and 2 parties later, it was apparent, everyone loves cupcakes!
Since the beginning of May, I have catered several events making over 1000 cupcakes and making some amazing friends along the way.
Marking the beginning of my journey in the beginning of May, I started applying for permits in the city of San Francisco. And have a goal to officially open the truck by Fall of 2012.
In the mean time, i’m giving everyone the opportunity to get their name on the truck before it launches, simply by being a part of a KickStarter project that launched this week and getting MyCupcakeTruck ready to rock and roll!
Krystyl Baldwin: kenny text me a little while ago ‘i wish i was in your bed right now’
Mia von Doom: …….
Krystyl Baldwin: i said ‘i wish i had cheese cake right now, which do you think will happen first?”
Krystyl Baldwin: kenny replied with “cheesecake or…?”
Krystyl Baldwin: i said “you in my bed”
Krystyl Baldwin: he says “me or my cock?”
Mia von Doom: LMAO
Krystyl Baldwin: i said “you. your cock is on time out”
Mia von Doom: oh kenneh
Krystyl Baldwin: his response “what!!!”
Krystyl Baldwin: im replying with “the only time i get to see you is when you know my vagina is open for business”
Mia von Doom: that should be a tshirt tbh
Mia von Doom: or a country song
Mia von Doom: “Open For Business”
Mia von Doom: You never call, you never write,
you never text me back.
I know I should hate the way you treat me
But it gives me a heart attack
You know exactly what you do to me,
And yet you think it’s fair
You never give me the time of day
Until I accidentally give you that stare
You only want me when you know
my vagina is open for business
*epic drum solo*
Krystyl Baldwin: that song is beautiful mia
Krystyl Baldwin: BEAUTIFUL
Mia von Doom: thank you very much bb
Mia von Doom: i thought really hard for like 3 minutes on it
Krystyl Baldwin: i actually envision someone like Lonely Island, and a guest appearance from Maroon 5, or maybe even Jason Mrazto be singing it
Mia von Doom: YESSSSSSSSSSSS
Mia von Doom: the official name of the song will be
Mia von Doom: “Open for Business (I hate you, Kenny)”
Mia von Doom: and at the end of the song, Adam Levine will say
Mia von Doom: “….Krystyl hates you, Kenny”
Krystyl Baldwin: BRILLIANT
Mia von Doom: i just imagine tshirts being sold that say
Mia von Doom: KRYSTYL HATES YOU, KENNY
Krystyl Baldwin: i text him to tell him that you and i wrote a song about him that we’re doing to be selling to The Lonely Island called “Krystyl Hates You Kenny” and the chorus of the song is going to be “I only see you when you think my vagina is open for business”
Krystyl Baldwin: he goes “you make me laugh”
Krystyl Baldwin: i said “this is no laughing matter….this is serious. we’ll be requesting Adam Levine from Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera (when she loses weight) to be guest singers. Adam will sing the last line “Krystyl really hates you Kenny” and Christina in the background will sing “her vaginas not open for business”
Mia von Doom: this will be our key to millions tbh
Mia von Doom: omg this would be epic. so the FoD sketch would start with you writing a letter to Funny or Die, asking for their help. You’re stuck on a boy and you can’t get unstuck, and can they please write a song and make Maroon 5 sing it?
Mia von Doom: LMAO (when she loses weight)
Mia von Doom: And then cut to Maroon 5 and Adam Levine says “Krystyl, Funny or Die read your letter and they passed it onto us. Normally we don’t do this sort of thing, but Funny or Die came into possession of some incriminating photographs of me with a horse, so… yeah… so anyway, here’s your song!”
Mia von Doom: Cut to the song
Mia von Doom: blah blah
Mia von Doom: Last line of the song:
Mia von Doom: Adam Levine pausing, then saying
Mia von Doom: Krystyl Hates You, Kenny.
Mia von Doom: then adam asking “That’s all I have to do, right?”
Mia von Doom: SCENE
Mia von Doom: CREDITS
Mia von Doom: BEAUTIFUL
Mia von Doom: ROLLIN IN DOUGH AND HOEZ
Krystyl Baldwin: tears will be shed
Mia von Doom: pitch this pleaz
